Artistic approach

Olga David was born in the Altai Mountains of Russia.
Her diploma in panel painting and architectural studies had an impact on her further work. Today she lives and works as a professional artist in the sunny Palatinate.

At the centre of her artistic work is the human being, the basic form of the human body, emotions. Thanks to her many years of experience, she has found her own style to combine classical painting and modern aesthetics. Her emotional women are sensual, nude pictures - uninhibited, her abstract motifs a delight in colour and her portraits a depiction of delicacy and nobility.

Her figurative painting also focuses almost exclusively on people, mostly on female nudes. She creates the depth effect of the picture by simply combining the different colours and by using different shades of light and dark. The colour red - symbol of love and passionate seduction - can always be found in her nudes, sensual and explosive. Graceful and charming poses create her nudes and female frivolous motifs.

Her most recent discovery is gold leaf, inspired by iconography and modern materials, her most recent series of imitation gold paintings was created. Thousands of years old techniques of iconography and modern OSB plates form a symbiosis in her pictures. The almost mystical ecclesiastical symbolism of the icon collides with contemporary political events and personalities. The combination of these opposites is depicted in symbolic tragicomic motifs.
